Sinus Lift

Sinus Lift

What is a sinus lift?
The maxillary sinus is an air cavity behind your cheeks. It sits on top of your teeth in the upper jaw. Sometimes they are so close to the upper teeth that the membrane (lining) of the sinus and the teeth are touching and draping over the tooth roots. In select cases where the sinus sits lower and there is not enough bone for an implant placement the the sinus membrane has to be lifted and bone graft placement is necessary. In select cases, this procedure can be done at the same time of implant placement and in some cases it has to be done as a separate procedure prior to implant placement.

Please ask Song Oral and maxillofacial surgeons if a sinus lift is necessary.
