Consultation

Consultation

Welcome to Song Oral Surgery! The initial appointment consists of a consultation. During the consultation, our surgeons will perform a clinical and radiographic exam. After a diagnosis is established, the surgeon will provide you with treatment and anesthesia options. For patients with complex medical problems, we may need additional information from your primary care doctor. Our surgeons will go over the risks, benefits and alternatives in detail and answer all your questions. The consultation is an important part of your treatment for your doctor to understand your goals and for you to understand the treatment process.

For most of our procedures that require sedation, the appointment time is scheduled separately from the consultation. Emergency surgery is occasionally performed on the same day but typically not with sedation.

For the initial appointment, please bring:
  • Referral note
  • Current list of medications
  • Dental Insurance Card
  • Medical Insurance Card
  • Name and contact information of your primary care doctor
Please note that patients under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at the consultation. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.

Radiographs/X-rays
If you have existing X-¬rays, please let us know. We will contact your general dentist or referring doctor to forward the X rays to our office prior to your appointment. We may need additional X rays or a 3 dimensional image CBCT for appropriate diagnosis and treatment planning.
